More charges are coming. You need to act quickly.

A Charge like this is a risk to your personal and financial Information

It could be a scam. It depends how you got there. After reading this article, I encourage you to verify this information for yourself. Let’s review what might have happened…

What is balexta.com?

balexta.com is the billing name and customer service site for an online dating site called Tonights Hookup, and probably some bonus offers. More on that later. The charge might appear with the customer service number: 844-643-2094. It is important to note, that these operations can and do change dating sites, so you might have found this page based on the billing name, but the dating site could be different. The risks are the same, even if the dating site is different. They are small, shadowy companies with little information available.

The Customer Service Site is operational as of: 24-Jan-2021

Is the balexta.com site legitimate?

The dating site is a real site. I have not reviewed the content, but I consider it low quality. If you actually read the 9,170 word terms of use, you would find this:

balexta.com Terms

balexta.com Terms show that fake profiles are used

In other words, fake dating profiles.

The question really is…

How balexta.com ended up on your credit card

Or how did you get signed up? You probably signed up for something you thought was free; perhaps you missed the fine print describing the charges. Scams occur when the charges are deliberately hidden. Here are a few of the possibilities:

  • Online dating scams that ask you to verify before you can meet “your date”
  • Signing up for an adult site for “free”
  • A “bonus” offer when you signed up for another site

How I found it

I found balexta.com by purposefully clicking thru a spam email, which led me to the Tonights Hookup site, with a “free” verification.

What I found

I was presented with a free verification page that looked like this.

TonightsHookup.com "free" verification page

TonightsHookup.com “free” verification page

What wasn’t easy to see were the charges were. Even at that, they were really hard to read because of the small size and the light color text. I had to increase my browser view to 150% to read it:

Hidden charges that show up as balexta.com

Hidden charges that show up as balexta.com

Here are the charges that you are going to see on your credit card:

  • tonightshookup.com-PremiumVip subscription at $49.95 / month
  • one time sign up fee of $1.25
  • hothookup.net trial period for $1.25
  • hothookup.net subscription for $39.95 / month
  • letsbang.net subscription for $29.95 / month

That is 122.35 worth of free!

This is just one sample image. The highlighted section is the billing name and customer service website. It changes with each click. I found many of them. This scam uses the “Too Big for Your Cell Phone” trick. You can see how it works in this video:

Video: How they Scam You

Did you see the rotation? The reason they do this is to fulfill affiliate agreements. It also creates lots of plausible deniability. See the link for the White Label Dating article below.

Who Owns balexta.com

AVA Developments Ltd., 123 Charter Street, Chatham, England, ME4 5RY (AVA).

Welcome to Jamaica Mon

TonightsHookup is owned by Enza Limited, 48 Constant Spring Road, Kingston 10, Jamaica.

Hotthookup and Letsbang owners are not known. Both have the same address in a small rural community in Jamaica: P.O. Box 6 Walkerswood, St. Ann Jamaica.

Identical Dating Sites

Hothookup and Letsbang are identical in style and content. I captured screenshots that you can see here.

They are what is called “white label” sites. One company runs all of the operations, and there are many facades to the same underlying website. Operationally they share the same database of members. TonightsHookup shares the same Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, and their customer support pages are identical.

Remember the 3 charges? What it means is that you have paid 3 times for the same crappy dating site!

Why is White Label Dating a Problem?

Why balexta.com is a Risk

Having a charge like this indicates many things:

  1. It is a per month charge, so more charges are coming
  2. There were bonus offers with additional monthly charges
  3. The bonus offers mean that balexta.com shared your financial and personal information with other companies
  4. The owners of the billing sites are small shell companies – you didn’t give your card to Amazon or Starbucks 😒
  5. Some unknown company in Jamaica owns the dating sites. They have your personal information and possibly your credit card
  6. The payment company used by balexta.com is RocketPay. You probably agreed to let them store your payment information. Scroll up and look closely at the “remember me” button on the hidden charges image It is a small, off-shore payment company. Read more here

How to cancel balexta.com and the Bonus Offers?

What you do next depends on why you think you were charged. Just canceling the service will leave you at significant risk, so read carefully.

Hard to Cancel

I have received many emails telling me that the person cancelled but was still being charged. The reasons could be many. Often this is due to “bonus” offers coming from a different company. In this case it appears that all of the charges will come under balexta.com but I do not know that with certainty. The other reason it can be a problem is that these sites usually require advance notice to cancel, as is the case here:

balexta.com Cancellation Policy

balexta.com requires 5 days advance notice to cancel your subscription.

Important: When you cancel, remember you need to cancel all 3 subscriptions. It appears that you can cancel all 3 thru the same customer service site – make sure when you contact them.

These Sites Can and Do Change

Your experience could be different than what I found. In late 2019 I found the same scam with a completely different set of dating and billing site names, but everything else was the same: Terms, Privacy Policy, Too big for the cell phone trick, and even the same girls on the web page. It might look a little different, but the risks are the same.

To Cancel

Just canceling the service is not going to protect you. There is a a cancel function and other contact information at balexta.com. You will need to provide a partial credit card number. That is O.K., you will be cancelling your credit card anyway.

(Here is why a partial number is OK.).

However, there is much more you need to do in order to be secure in your personal and financial information. Click the button below that best describes your situation, and we will go from there.

5 Things To Do Now to Protect Yourself

What to do next depends on why you think the charge is on your credit card. This is a serious situation, but as long as you keep cool and act quickly, you will be fine. Remember, only you will be able to determine how you got there and assess if it was a scam or not. Click one of the options below and we will take it from there…

You remember signing up for a free service, such as a Date / ID verification or cam site, but it was free.

None of the above is familiar

Someone else in my Household did this.

Thank you for visiting, and good luck.
